[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Description” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%2300bab3″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Clear and clean air, unspoiled nature and animals roaming undisturbed: here is the idyllic picture of Lake Urio Quattrocchi, with its beautiful picnic area within a beautiful natural forest of 50 hectares.

The circular lake of Urio Quattrocchi is at an altitude of 1030 meters, at the entrance to the Nebrodi Park, in the municipality of Mistretta, and represents one of the few wetlands of the western Nebrodi region.
To reach the lake, you must drive approximately 6 km along State Road (SS) 117, which reaches Nicosia from Mistretta.
The lake view from the parking lot is spectacular.
The Park Authority has installed a wooden fence along the lake’s edge, as well as walkways, wooden houses, toilets and tables: a well equipped picnic area that has become a favorite destination for tourists who want to enjoy the clear and clean air at more than 1000 meters of altitude.
Around the lake, nature is unspoiled, quiet and peaceful. It is not difficult to hear frogs croaking and spot creeping lizards. Animals live undisturbed here and life is bustling, even if the surface of the lake is almost entirely covered by water plants.
Small water turtles, black and white storks, cormorants, martens and weasels inhabit the lake area, attracted by large amounts of fish. Nearby, it is not uncommon to cross paths with foxes, black pigs and cow herds.
Nature is still the undisputed protagonist of this location surrounded by pines, firs, beech trees and holly bushes.
In the winter, you can enjoy the spectacle of the frozen lake; in the spring, carpets of flowers and turtles basking in the sun on dry reeds; in the fall, the spectacle of mushrooms and other flowery meadows; and, in the summer, colors and coolness: each season has its charm here in the Nebrodi Park![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space height=”52px”][vc_column_text]Difficulty level:  easy
