Easy to do with children in strollers or on their legs, searching for neviere (snow houses) hidden in the woods.
This trail entails a comfortable hike without particular difficulties, thus perfect for all young and not-so-young trekkers.
You can walk starting directly from the hotel (2.2 km) or driving up to the end of the first leg, thus reducing the stretch to be completed on foot.
The trail traverses entirely a thickly wooded area resulting from man-made reforestation efforts in a typical mountain environment. Cypresses, black pines and chestnut trees are the most common trees.
How long you take to complete the entire loop depends much on the time you linger to admire the forest landscape surrounding you, or the children take to find the snow houses hidden in the woods. Do not be surprised if we talk about snow in Sicily: the village of Mistretta is located at an altitude of 1000 meters, where snow is not at all a rarity. You do not know what the neviere are? Discover it from your waypoint along the way.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space height=”52px”][vc_column_text]Difficulty level: easy
